Cassie Christensen, LCSW

Chief Clinical Officer

At Modern Therapy, we’re dedicated to finding therapists who embody warmth, expertise, professionalism, responsiveness, and dependability. Our hiring process is highly selective, ensuring that only those who meet our exceptional standards of care join our team. Above all, I prioritize a personal connection in interviews—asking myself if I would trust this person as my own therapist, which guides our commitment to providing meaningful, supportive care to our clients.

Business approach

If you could describe the heart of Modern Therapy in one sentence, what would it be?

To make people's lives better.

Personal Touch + Personality

How would you each describe yourself outside the role of business owner and therapist?

Since starting Modern Therapy, we have always upheld values of empathy, integrity, and dedication to those we serve. Becoming a mom has deepened these values, adding a new layer of compassion, patience, and purpose to everything I do. Motherhood has woven its own influence into our business, guiding its growth with the same warmth and resilience I strive to foster in my family. This personal journey has enriched Modern Therapy, enhancing our commitment to creating a space where people feel truly cared for, supported, and valued at every step.

WORKING WITH CLIENTS

How do you balance business growth with maintaining a supportive, client-centered environment?

When we prioritize support for both clients and therapists, business growth follows naturally. With every decision, we rely on “gut check” questions aligned with our core values, ensuring we stay true to what matters most and guiding us in thoughtful, value-driven decision-making.

Therapy Philosophy

What’s a common myth about therapy you wish you could debunk for new clients?

There’s a common misconception that therapy is only for those facing major crises or diagnoses. In reality, therapy can be incredibly helpful for anyone navigating life’s normal transitions or difficult times. You don’t have to make a lifelong commitment to therapy—if you’re looking for short-term support, that’s perfectly okay. Therapy is a flexible tool that can offer guidance and relief when you need it, without the feeling of being "stuck" in it forever.

Final Thoughts + Encouragement

What would you say to someone hesitant about starting therapy with Modern Therapy?

If you’ve read this far and are still wondering whether to start therapy, take it as a sign—it’s time to reach out. Just give us a call!

Personal Well-Being +  Self-Care

What’s one self-care tip you each swear by?

When it comes to self-care, it’s easy to think that a single bubble bath or relaxing moment is enough to relieve stress—and while I do enjoy a good bubble bath, true self-care goes deeper. It’s about cultivating daily habits that nourish your physical, mental, and spiritual health consistently. Real self-care means making intentional choices every day that support your well-being, building a foundation of resilience and balance that lasts far beyond any one moment of relaxation.
