Binge eating episodes usually occur a minimum of twice per week for longer than six months. It often leads to the development of weight gain, which can indirectly reinforce further compulsive eating.

Skidmore College Active Minds put together a panel for National Eating Disorders awareness week. Modern Therapy spoke alongside nutritionist Elyn Zimmerman about the prevalence of eating disorders on college campuses. 

The term “co-occurring diagnoses” refers to someone having two or more mental health concerns at the same time. Many times, someone who is dealing with an eating disorder may also have another diagnosis.

Due to the prevalence of ED on college campuses, Modern Therapy was invited to speak with the students of NYU. The event was held on March 29th, 2018 in the Global Center for Academic and Spiritual Life.
