Social Work Clinical Supervision
The New Jersey Board of Social Work Examiners requires that individuals working toward their LCSW be supervised by a professional whom has successfully completed a certificate in clinical supervision. Clinical supervisors play an important role in supporting your growth in your profession. Clinical social workers perform services in a variety of settings including private practice, hospitals, community mental health, primary care, and agencies. Social workers have a responsibility to their clients to be knowledgeable and qualified in their field of practice. For many social workers, supervision is not offered at their place of employment and they seek outside supervision.
Supervisors Must:
Have their LCSW for a minimum of 3 years
Be in good standing in New Jersey with their license
Hold a clinical supervisor certificate
