I approach therapy with clients by building rapport and creating a safe, comfortable place to sort things out. I believe positive emotional engagement can build changes in thoughts and attitudes, while promoting an increase “bounce-back” ability from difficult experiences.

I use a conversational tone and approach, building on comfort for ease of discussion, listening and encouraging more talking and free association at the individual’s own pace.
I am a huge Brene Brown admirer and enjoy listening to her audio books, Youtube channel and podcasts. Her statements on using courage to urge others to find their reason, belonging an emotional connection. And by helping others be okay with vulnerability and lessening power by naming difficulty emotions. Speaks to some of my own therapy philosophies.
In setting goals with client’s I strongly recommend reliance on their values, able to be realistically achieved and measurable, by their own standards.
When a client realizes they no longer need me. When the shift/change/acceptance/healing; that was sort has occurred and can be recognized in their own view.
I am a big believer and component for Restorative Practices, from 1-minute meditation breaks to & making a cup of tea rituals.
