Vanessa Frazer, LCSW
Vanessa is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with a Bachelor's Degree of Arts from the University of South Carolina and a Master's Degree in Social Work from Rutgers University. With over 14 years of experience in the mental health field, she has accumulated skills suited for working with a wide variety of clients, but specializes in working with adolescents, adults, and seniors experiencing anxiety, grief, chronic illness, and relationship difficulties.
Her work experience has been garnered across the spectrum of mental health settings. Most notably, she spent several years as a Hospice Clinical Social Worker, providing end of life counseling and support to hospice patients. In addition to providing support to the patients, she offered grief and loss counseling to those surviving family members. She has developed treatment plans and provided support individually as well as in group settings. Vanessa also spent 7 years working with the Bayonne Community Mental Health Center, facilitating psycho-educational and psychotherapeutic groups for bereavement, managing relationships, and domestic violence. Through these experiences, Vanessa has become knowledgeable and developed skills to work with adults and seniors experiencing a range of mild to severe mental health challenges.
Vanessa’s clinical approach utilizes a range of evidence based modalities tailored to fit the needs of each individual client. She is certified in Trauma Therapy and has had extensive training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). She also has experience utilizing mindfulness, Solution Focused Therapy, and Strength Based Therapy.
