Therapeutic Style + Approach

How would you describe your style in therapy sessions?

I’m very empathetic, approachable, supportive & direct. Therapy with me is an interactive experience. I like it to be a conversation that leads to growth & change.

Personal Touch + Personality

How would you describe yourself outside of your role as a therapist?

I’m pretty easy going. I very much enjoy spending time outdoors- hiking, camping, swimming & going to the beach or the mountains. I have a strong love for music & will go to great lengths to see live bands.

WORKING WITH CLIENTS

What is one thing you wish all clients knew about starting therapy?

One thing I would like clients to know about starting therapy is that you don’t need to stick with the first therapist you try. It’s important to find a therapist that has a personality & style that works for you.

Therapy Philosophy

How do you define success in a therapeutic journey?

Success in therapy is different for everyone but essentially means an improvement in mental health. This can look like reaching specific goals, learning coping skills, reducing symptoms, gaining self-awareness & increasing feelings of empowerment. Successful clients shift their reliance from me onto themselves.

Personal Well-Being +  Self-Care

How do you prioritize your own mental health and well-being?

I prioritize my own mental health by making sure to get ample sleep & plenty of exercise. I follow a healthy sleep hygiene routine nightly & exercise several times a week. Sleep & exercise is imperative for optimal physical & mental functioning. This is something I encourage for all my clients because the relationship between physical & mental health is intrinsically linked.

Final Thoughts + Encouragement

What would you say to someone who is nervous about starting therapy?

It’s very common to feel nervous when starting therapy because you are sharing deeply personal information to a complete stranger. Just know that you won’t be judged, everything is confidential & we’ll be moving at your pace.
