I became a therapist to help people become the best version of themselves. When I was 18, I went through a difficult time and found support from a guidance counselor who listened without judgment. That experience stayed with me, and I knew I wanted to give others the same kindness and encouragement. My goal is to create a warm, supportive space where clients feel comfortable, heard, and empowered to grow.
I like for my clients to feel as comfortable as possible. I like to be warm and conversational, but I also provide some structure on what goals they would like to work on in therapy.
I like to be fun and more carefree because it's also important to enjoy life. I enjoy taking my dog for walks, going to the beach, watching movies, and being with friends.
I like to ask my clients during the intake process, what they are looking to gain in therapy. Also, if they have done therapy before in the past, what worked for them and what didn't. I then try to tailor my approach to help the client.
I think when a person becomes more self aware and honest about themselves. Also, when they are ready to take steps to change and grow as a person.
I think it's important to do an activity that helps you manage and decrease stress. It could be a mindful meditation, listening to music, or doing something creative.
It takes some courage to open up to someone and let them in. But, once you take the risk it can really change your life.
