Michael McNeill, LCSW

THERAPIST

Authentic

Compassionate

Supportive

I see therapy as a place where you can feel heard, supported, and understood. My style is open and down-to-earth, and I enjoy working side by side with clients as they explore what matters most to them. I believe each person brings their own strengths and story to the process, and together we can find ways to create meaningful change. When I’m not in session, I love spending time exploring new foods, visiting museums, staying active, and enjoying time with family and friends.

Meet Michael

Therapeutic Style + Approach

How would you describe your style in therapy sessions?

My therapeutic style is warm, collaborative, and engaging, creating a safe, non-judgmental space for exploration. I support clients in connecting with their deepest feelings without fear.

Personal Touch + Personality

Can you share a fun fact or something unique about yourself?

I get great enjoyment from hearing about and participating in other people’s experiences, which allows me to connect with clients on a personal level. I love sports, museums, cooking, and exploring new restaurants.

WORKING WITH CLIENTS

How do you tailor your methods to meet the unique needs of each client?

I take a person-centered approach that respects each client’s individuality. By tailoring treatment to their unique mind, body, and spirit, I help them identify and achieve their personal goals

Therapy Philosophy

What’s a common myth about therapy you wish you could debunk?

A pet peeve of mine is how movies and television depict therapists. We’re not here to tell you what to do—we’re guides who help you uncover obstacles and collaborate with you on ways to overcome them and reach your goals.

Personal Well-Being +  Self-Care

How do you prioritize your own mental health and well-being?

I am an advocate for maintaining personal care and well-being through healthy escapes. I believe everyone should engage in hobbies or activities that are completely separate from work or other stressful aspects of life.

Final Thoughts + Encouragement

What would you say to someone who is nervous about starting therapy?

I see therapy as a safe relationship where you can talk openly without expectation or judgment. There’s nothing wrong with you and you don’t need to be fixed; it’s simply a space to unpack your thoughts, put them in order, and have a meaningful conversation.
