Whether you’re in a relationship or not, focusing on self-love and kindness is crucial in order to support and love others as well. Often when we are single during Valentine’s Day we can feel frustrated with extravagant gifts, or feeling we have to buy presents. While we may have varying opinions on Valentine’s Day, we know it’s celebrated so why not take advantage of it and celebrate you?
Try a few of these ideas and give yourself lots of love.
-
Do a little self-care shopping
Give yourself permission to splurge a bit. You deserve it! Buy yourself something special that you’ve been looking forward to.
2. Have a Spa Night
Take some time for self-care with a night in. Grab the face mask, candles, and bubble bath. It’s probably been a while since you gave yourself permission to wind down.
3. Plan a Night With Friends (Maybe Virtual Right Now)
Get your friends together (albeit virtually) and spend some time together. Make dinner and enjoy it, plan a game night, choose something you’ll all enjoy.
4. Buy Yourself Chocolate and Flowers (If That’s What You Like)
You don’t need anyone to buy you a gift, you should be able to get what you want for yourself! Get yourself flowers or a seasonal treat that makes you feel good.
5. Make Yourself a Care Package
Fill a pretty basket or box with some of your favorite things and enjoy them on Valentine’s Day. Some essential oils, a bath bomb, a favorite book, etc. Treat yourself!
6. Be Selfish
Do something that makes you happy like a yoga class, dancing to loud music, painting, or baking your favorite treat.
7. Pamper Yourself!
Whether at home or not, plan a mani/pedi or schedule an appointment for a massage when your area can safely open.
8. Wear Something That Makes You Feel Positive
Put on your favorite shoes, sweater or another item that makes you feel strong and powerful.
9. Take Some Down Time
Whether you binge-watch a show, engage in some mindfulness exercises, or get outside, take some time for yourself. Try a breathing exercise: Inhale self-love, exhale self-doubt.
10. List Out Qualities You Love About Yourself
Whether it’s a personality trait, a special talent, or something else, write it down and show yourself some love.
Valentine’s Day doesn’t just have to be about loving a partner, it should be about love in general. Celebrate you this Valentine’s Day.
